Online at the UGE, the Ministry's unit for strategic groups. This is open if you are in Spain legally.
Requirements
Requirements as published in the law and by the Spanish consulates. The consulate or office you apply to has the final say.
| Requirement | What it means |
|---|---|
| Conditions | The conditions that gave you the right to the permit must continue. |
| Timing for UGE permits | Filing extends the permit until the decision, also if you file within the 90 days after it ended. A sanction procedure may still follow. If you hold a telework visa, request the authorisation within 60 calendar days before the visa expires. |
| Non-lucrative permit | File in the 2 months before expiry, or within 3 months after it. You must have lived in Spain for more than 183 days in the calendar year and keep health insurance and enough means. The renewed permit lasts 2 years. |
Government fees
- Renewal of a temporary residence permit (Modelo 790, code 052, items 2.2.x): €16.40.
- TIE for a renewal (Modelo 790, code 012): €19.30.
Amounts as published on 2026-11-03. The law updates them every year with the budget laws, and each consulate may state the visa fee in local currency. Your consultant confirms the exact figures in your quote.
