  • If you apply from abroad, the visa fee at the consulate is €90 for a national long-stay visa (type D), paid in euros or in the local currency.
  • The residence authorisation fee (Modelo 790, code 052) is set in the annex of Order PJC/617/2025. We confirm the item that applies to your permit in your quote.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the permit?

Up to 3 years. You can renew it for 2-year periods while the conditions that gave you the right continue.

How fast is the decision?

The UGE must resolve within 20 days of the electronic filing. If it does not, the authorisation is approved by administrative silence. A visa application at a consulate has its own legal period of 10 days, which can be extended if the consulate asks for an interview or more documents.

Can I apply from outside Spain?

Yes. You apply for the visa at the Spanish consulate. It is valid for up to 1 year. Then you can ask for the residence authorisation within the 60 calendar days before the visa expires.

Do I need a TIE?

A residence authorisation longer than 6 months requires a TIE. The telework visa lets you live in Spain without a TIE while the visa is valid.

How we help
